Professional Practice Lecture 21st March 2011: Promotional Strategies

Why is a good promotional strategy important?
So that the right people see your work, remember you, and hopefully commission you!

Promotion is an ongoing strategy
Without ongoing promotion you may struggle to find new work

Mailing List
Build a list of names of art directors, editors, potential clients etc.
Keep it up to date and add to it regularly.

Marketing Materials
Visually stimulating promotional items:
Business cards,  posters, email newsletters etc
These items should include your name, website URL, phone number/email address, a sample of your work.
Try different appraoches, find which one is best for you and which suits your style and budget.
