I have been commissioned by a colleague to paint a portrait of her father. I am really nervous about this, as I am not very confident where this type of work is produced. Drawing people is not one of my strengths, and although I have attended life drawing classes, I have struggled with them. I don't want to let my colleague down, and, awful though this sounds, this is a paid commission! I am enticed by the appeal some money! She is going to send me some photos of her father, and is looking for an image which is raw and honest. She is happy for the image to be produced using watercolour.
I will have a look at the photos and see what I can do, but drawing from photos is notoriously difficult !
