Today's seminar was really useful, as I have been growing increasingly anxious about the Professional Practice Module, as I feel somewhat unprepared for life beyond university as an illustrator. The seminar discussed ways of selling/promoting artwork online, and the possibilities for the creation of online portfolios, and portfolios in different forms.
Sites mentioned include:
http://www.etsy.com/
http://www.folksy.com/
http://bigcartel.com/
http://www.magcloud.com/
http://www.spoonflower.com/welcome (Have considered using this for my recipes work for Neg 1....fabric design is particularly appealing)
http://uk.moo.com/
http://www.envelop.eu/
http://www.bagsoflove.co.uk/
http://issuu.com/
http://www.lulu.com/ (A more professional way which to present MacMillan competition entry)
http://www.newspaperclub.co.uk/ (A really innovative alternative to the standard portfolio, would suit my style of work)
I feel inspired and motivated by this seminar...there is really no excuse for not exploiting the full range of sites available.
